ABOUT ME

Jurney Leigh is a southern California native and has come full circle in her artistic passions from theatrical arts to blooming as an intuitive abstract artist. She began painting in the mid 1990s to beloved Bob Ross and searched for other painters that resonated as soul food. Drawn to the beautiful pacific northwest to a vibrant art community in Portland, Oregon, she discovered several delightful mentors such as Flora Bowley, a visionary artist and Olga Soby, two amazing teachers who have given her inspiration and tender loving guidance in following her artistic path. Jurney is like a butterfly, fluttering love and light with her unique artistic expression.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"Hello and welcome to my creatively expressive world!

I am inspired by love, nature, heritage, and the passion to transform poetry into intuitive abstract works of art. While working with acrylic, mixed media and the gift of meditation, I feel a true sense of freedom to play without needing to know where it's all going. This intuitive approach has been an incredible experience in finding my creative style and desire the viewer to embrace a unique visual experience."

Learning and growing with every blank canvas, Jurney continues to blossom and refine. She attends regular classes, workshops, retreats, art shows and live painting events, soaking up all the rich education to propel her creativity. She enjoys being a work in progress and invites you to follow her along on her creative path. She recently visited Santa Fe, New Mexico for the Gathering of the Creatives and has upcoming art shows on the 2025 horizon.
